Day 4: The Benefits of Exercising Regularly

Philippe H.

The importance of regular exercises cannot be overemphasized. There are a lot of proven benefits, both health-related and therapeutic, that abound today. Exercises become even more important for us to burn out the calories that have been stored up in the body. As a matter of fact, more than 80% of the adolescent population are inadequately inactive in terms of physical activities.

The American Academy of Pediatrics, for one, has discovered that it is possible for children to suffer from depression; hence, exercises provide an easy way out of the depression red zone.

According to the American Journal of Medicine, lower degrees of physical activity predisposes a person to mortality, while the World Health Organization recommends a weekly amount of exercise to span at least 150 minutes for people between the age range of 18 and 64 years.

How to break the bad habit of insufficient exercise

If you want to break down suddenly, exercises will go a long way in averting that. The most important thing is to shun all forms of habit that hinders you from engaging in extra-curricular exercise.

  • Surround yourself with people who want to go on a morning walk/jog.
  • Register at a gym with the help of an instructor.
  • Put off negative mindsets.
  • Identify your triggers and work on them.
What happens if you do not Exercise Regularly?

  • It exposes you to the risk of cardiovascular diseases, cancer and diabetes;
  • Insufficient energy levels;
  • Muscular and respiratory dysfunctions; and so on.
Why you should exercise more

  • To reduce the risk of depression, stroke, heart diseases and diabetes;
  • To enhance muscular and fitness of the heart muscles;
  • To improve the quality and length of life expectancy;
  • To reduce susceptibility to illnesses and stress;
  • To enjoy mental fitness.
What Kinds of Exercises can you do?

On the average, every person across all ages should maintain physical activity. Although there are environmental factors that may give little room for exercises, walking or cycling can be a great start. You may also need to get into a fitness class to maintain your body mass index (BMI) and work on your weight. Also avoid remaining on a spot for long periods.

The perks that come with exercising regularly are far reaching, as they ensure that we enjoy sound wellbeing, both physically and psychologically.
